Stevie has been so kind lately, by letting me know when my dinners are sub-par. (And by kind, I mean he yells at me EVERY night that I make bad dinners!) He does not like a lot of dinner items, which makes it hard as the mom who has to prepare those meals. The meals that I have a go on are ravioli's (from Price Chopper), pizza (from Minsky's or Papa Johns), mozzarella sticks, hot dogs, and breakfast for dinner. I try to sprinkle those in from time to time so that he actually gets a "good meal" as he calls it, once a week. Annie and Robbie are not as picky. They both eat pretty well. Annie has her moments, but all in all she likes her food! Robbie is going through some kind of growth spurt where he can't get enough to eat. He always has been the "easiest" kid.
Last night I made green beans with mashed potatoes and then bought a rotisserie chicken from Price Chopper. Stevie was again displeased with the dinner and proceeded to tell me all about it. I quickly sent him to his room after telling him he was out of line. His instructions were to sit up there and calm down and join us again when he felt he was ready to behave himself at dinner. We waited and waited. I finally went up after 20 minutes and talked to him about why he had not joined us. He was just avoiding the dinner and thought if he returned that he would have to eat it. I told him it hurt my feelings when he continuously told me how bad my dinners were. He thought about it for a second and said that he was sorry. Then, he thought some more. As I walked out of the room happy to have the apology, he hits me with this...
Hey Mom, why are you so upset that I yelled about your dinner? You didn't even make that chicken yourself! You should not be upset! Price Chopper made the bad dinner!!!
What could I say to that?!
